Your new build home will have a minimum of 10 years’ structural warranty cover from the date of the completion of the property - our surveyor team make the final checks and issue what is called a 'Certificate of Acceptance' once they are happy that the house is ready to be lived in.
If you have paid a deposit to a Developer for a new home covered by our New Home Warranty, and the build hasn't started or the Developer doesn’t complete a build due to insolvency or fraud, this section of cover will help you to recover those costs. Please refer to your policy document.
During the first 2 years of cover for New Homes, known as Defects Insurance Period (1 year for Social Housing Warranty cover), if you do find any problems with your home, it will be up to the developer to put things right. Make sure you keep hold of their details once you've bought your home and speak to them about the process of reporting problems.
If you can't come to an agreement with your developer about carrying out the repairs or they fail to carry them out, your structural warranty cover allows you to call Premier Guarantee and we will help you to get the work done as quickly as possible.
