“I grew up in the area. The lakes are former iron ore pits from a 19th century iron ore production plant, locally known as the “Mine Holes” or Frome Lakes. The path from the residential area was used by people to get to work or the station – it was known as the Ash Path, as steam train ash has been used to create it. We swam and fished in them as children in the summer months. In the winter they would freeze over and were used for skating or ice slides. My daughter was a member of the West Wiltshire Sailing Association and we spent many evenings sailing and community barbeques.
“The planners and developers have to their credit addressed the development with sensitivity and enhancement. The lake has been retained and is still used for sailing and the footpath to the train station will be reintroduced. The wildlife and eco system with significant bird, mammal and fauna has been retained, with migratory Canadian Geese an annual attraction. Fishing is a great attraction for the area and encouraged.
“A good selection of traditionally built dwellings have been created – apartments, semi-detached, and large family homes located immediately next to the lakes. Simon Foy and Tony Lamb are two of the best site managers I have worked with and I felt genuinely privileged to visit the site and represent Premier Guarantee.”

‘’I enjoy working with George at the Lakeside Development. I know the Westbury area is close to his heart as he spent his childhood years here. George shows a real passion for his work and his attention to detail is unquestionable.
“Working with Premier Guarantee on this scheme has been a joy. The communication between both parties has been a great asset in ensuring efficiency in our build programme and it means we are handing over quality homes to our customers.”
