Codes of Practice: Rules of Registration update

Published date: 24 November 2022

You may be aware that a new industry Code of Practice, the New Homes Quality Code (NHQC), has been launched.

The NHQC, which was set up by the New Homes Quality Board (NHQB) in 2021, is separate from the perhaps more familiar Consumer Code for Home Builders (CCHB).

We at Premier Guarantee are making our terms more flexible to reflect the introduction of the NHQC.

What is changing?

Previously, Premier Guarantee’s Rules of Registration required that builders and developers join the CCHB.

In the interest of making your life easier, we are relaxing this stipulation. You now have a choice as to which code you join and adhere to.

Please note that it remains the case that you must join either one of these codes to meet our Rules of Registration.

What should you do next?

Simply put, this is entirely up to you.

If you are currently with the CCHB and wish to remain so, then there is no need for any further action.

If you wish to switch from the CCHB to the NHQB code, you should inform your Premier Guarantee Account Manager with details of when you have registered and ‘activated’. This will be the date displayed on the board’s Register of Developers
